1. Acceptance of Terms

By subscribing to and using CodeRemote ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Software.

2. Description of Service

CodeRemote is a CLI tool that creates a web interface for Claude Code:

  • Runs entirely on your development machine as a local server
  • Uses Tailscale for secure access from any device
  • Executes bash, git, and Claude CLI commands locally on your machine
  • Stores uploaded files in your current working directory
  • Provides a web-based interface optimized for mobile and desktop access

3. Experimental Technology Notice

Large language models are experimental technology that can make mistakes. Users must:

  • Review all AI-generated code before execution
  • Understand that AI suggestions may be incorrect, insecure, or inappropriate
  • Take full responsibility for code executed on their systems
  • Maintain backups of important data and code

4. License and Usage

CodeRemote requires an active subscription to access and use. The subscription provides:

  • Access to the private npm package
  • Installation on unlimited machines
  • All updates and new features
  • Priority support

The subscription covers all usage types, including:

  • Personal projects and learning
  • Open source contributions
  • Academic and educational purposes
  • Commercial and professional work
  • Client projects and employment

Your subscription grants access to our private npm package registry. Sharing npm credentials or redistributing the package is strictly prohibited.

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Securing your Tailscale network and development environment
  • API costs incurred through Claude usage
  • Reviewing and understanding all code before execution
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintaining appropriate backups of your data
  • Ensuring you have necessary permissions for all systems accessed

6. Prohibited Uses

You may not use CodeRemote to:

  • Access systems without authorization
  • Develop or distribute malicious software
  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Circumvent security measures

7. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data or code
  • System downtime or corruption
  • Costs from AI API usage
  • Errors in AI-generated code
  • Security breaches
  • Lost profits or business opportunities

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developers of CodeRemote from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Software, including but not limited to your violation of these terms or any applicable laws.

9. Third-Party Services

CodeRemote interfaces with third-party services including:

  • Claude API: Subject to Anthropic's terms and pricing
  • Tailscale: Subject to Tailscale's terms of service
  • Your Development Tools: Subject to their respective licenses

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services.

10. Privacy

Your use of CodeRemote is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Software, you consent to our privacy practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your subscription and access to the Software at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these terms. Upon termination, all licenses granted to you will immediately cease.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developers operate, without regard to conflict of law principles.
